1: Getting listed isn't just about having a great product. Know your value proposition. Why should your product sit on the shelf? The right price, packaging and a unique point of difference is essential.
2: Make sure you have strong commercials from the outset. If the numbers don't work for you and the retailer it won't work. Know your costs, trade spend and promo budgets up front.
3: Buyers are inundated with products and pitches. Do your homework, understand what problem you can help the buyer solve and think long term. A 'no' today can turn into a 'yes' later.
